Founded in 2018, our mission is to provide Australians with key renewable infrastructure to assist in the transition to net-zero.
Founded in 2018, Verdant Earth Technologies is an Australian-owned renewable energy asset owner, operator, and developer. Verdant is focused on the development of 24/7 renewable energy solutions and firming infrastructure, to help support the influx of intermittent energy resources.
Verdant’s launched it’s first project in 2018, acquiring the Redbank Power Station which it is seeking to convert from running on coal to renewable biomass. Verdant is working on projects across a range of technologies, including bioenergy, battery energy storage, hydropower, and others.
Verdant believes that 24/7 renewable energy and firming infrastructure is vital to the success of the global energy transition. These technologies provide critical support to intermittent solar and wind resources.
Our Senior Management Team
Richard Poole
CEO and Managing Director
Richard has built a diversified portfolio of successful projects and developed companies in a range of industries. These include mining, energy and media in Australia and internationally, including two energy retailers from initiation to revenues of $500m+ and a $1billion market cap mining tech co. He was Co-founder and Executive Strategic and Operations Director of Entrust Energy with operations in 14 states in the US. He has created partnerships and worked with Shell Energy North America and Nippon Gas . He is a qualified lawyer, member of the NSW law society, and holds an Australian Financial Services responsible manager licence.
Warren Kember
CFO and Executive Director
35 years experience as CEO/CFO of publicly listed companies, 17 years of which were in the energy sector, including senior executive roles with both blue-chip and smaller cap companies. Warren’s initial career with KMPG and in investment banking led to senior leadership roles with business units within a leading Australian energy retailer and later in the renewable energy sector.

Senior Industry participant and speaker with 35 years timber and waste industry experience, former president of both Australian Council of Recycling and the Waste Management Association of Australia. Leading industry expert on the use of engineered fuels, waste timber biomass, and the lead on the grow your own project.
Costa Tsiolkas
GM and Chief Engineer
Project Manager and Lead Engineer on the original construction of the Redbank Power Station, with 35 years engineering experience within major firms including one of Australia’s largest providers in the renewable energy and power market. He has been integral in the build of 6 power stations, delivering over 500GW worldwide.
