Verdant is working on the development of a 100MW battery in Warkworth, utilising existing grid connection infrastructure to reduce capital costs. The project is in the initial planning phase, the site is located on unused land adjacent to the Redbank Power Station.

Once completed, the BESS will provide much needed firming capacity to improve the reliability of the electricity grid and support solar and wind energy resources.
